Role Overview
As a Sports Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the students’ academic and personal development. Your primary focus will be on facilitating sports and physical education activities, but you will also assist in other subjects to ensure a well-rounded educational experience.
This is a full time position, working 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Start date - ASAP.
Key Responsibilities
Assist teachers in delivering high-quality sports and PE lessons, ensuring that all students are engaged and participating.
Support students with diverse needs, fostering their confidence and encouraging a positive attitude towards physical activity and teamwork.
Help plan and organize sports events, matches, and extracurricular activities, promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
Provide one-on-one support to students in various subjects, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs and learning styles.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and encouraging self-improvement.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all students, promoting respect and cooperation.
Collaborate with the teaching team to implement individualised educational plans (IEPs) and support students' overall development.
Requirements:
Experience working with young people, preferably in a teaching assistant or sports coaching role.
A strong background or qualification in sports, physical education, or a related field.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
A proactive, energetic attitude and a passion for helping students achieve their potential.
Strong organizational skills to assist with managing sports events and activities.
A commitment to continuous professional development.
