A distinguished primary school in Newbury urgently requires a caring and committed KS1 Learning Support professional to significantly impact a Newbury Year 5 student's life. The role entails offering one-on-one support to a young learner facing ADHD and sensory processing difficulties, providing the necessary guidance, encouragement, and patience to help him achieve his utmost potential.
KS1 Learning Support Responsibilities:
* Offer personalised, 1:1 academic support during lessons, breaking tasks down into manageable steps and using strategies tailored to his learning needs.
* Create a calming, structured environment where he can stay focused and feel understood, using sensory tools and adjustments to help manage his needs.
* Assist with emotional regulation by using positive reinforcement and consistent routines to build his confidence.
* Supervise him during lunchtime, ensuring he feels safe and supported while navigating social situations and managing sensory sensitivities.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to monitor his progress, adapt strategies, and set achievable goals.
* Foster a sense of belonging by helping him develop social skills and build positive relationships with his peers.
