Hours: Monday to Thursday (08:00am-14:00pm)
Pay: £166.32 daily rate

The Role
The department are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate KS3 SEN Base Teacher to lead a small class of 8 pupils with BESD. The school are open to secondary trained applicants in any core subject. You will deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, including Maths, English, and Humanities. Additionally, you will oversee our Wednesday AGORED Life in the Outdoors qualification, engaging students in outdoor activities or classroom-based learning linked to the qualification. All resources for the curriculum and qualifications are fully provided.
You’ll work collaboratively with a team of 3 skilled and dedicated support staff, ensuring every pupil receives the personalized care and attention they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver and adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of KS3 pupils in line with the National Curriculum.
Teach Maths, English, and Humanities, using the high-quality resources provided.
Lead the AGORED Life in the Outdoors qualification on Wednesdays, involving hands-on outdoor activities or class-based learning.
Support the development of pupils’ emotional resilience and social skills.
Work closely with the support staff team to implement effective behaviour management strategies.
Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, tailoring approaches to maximize achievement.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

A secondary qualified teacher (QTS) with experience or a passion for working with pupils with SEN, particularly those with BESD or willing to learn.
Strong classroom management skills with a nurturing approach.
A creative and adaptable teaching style to engage pupils with varied needs and abilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with support staff and other professionals.
A commitment to promoting pupils’ emotional well-being and personal development.
