Smart Works Leeds want to expand and embed the service we offer within the Bradford district. Reaching unemployed women in Bradford is integral to our mission of doubling the number of women we support by March 2025 and beyond.
To ensure that the service delivered meets the needs of women living in Bradford, we want to understand the employment barriers they are facing and recognise any gaps in the current service that may need addressing.
Smart Works Leeds have received a grant from the Maximus local impact fund to recruit a key role to support with this goal and are delighted to be seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to join the team on a 6 month fixed term contract.
This is a part time position, 15 hours per week, but fully flexible to accommodate any other responsibilities.
Some of the key responsibilities for this role will include;
1. Connecting directly with unemployed women in the district to understand the challenges they are facing
2. Engaging community leaders and partners to develop relationships and create working partnerships
3. Attending outreach activities
4. Gathering feedback from women in the community and the people who support them
5. Presenting research findings and recommendations at the end of the fixed term contract
6. Connecting directly with unemployed women in the district to understand the challenges they are facing, and to ensure they are made aware of the Smart Works service when they need it.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following traits;
7. Friendly and confident communication with people (over the phone, face to face and via email).
8. Lived experience of unemployment in Bradford.
9. An interest in data analysis.
10. The ability to work independently.
11. Competent IT user.
12. Fluency in Urdu or Punjabi is desirable.
