Hours of Work: Monday to Friday: 8am - 5pm
Our operation based in Bulwell has an exciting opportunity for a HSE & Facilities Manager to play a crucial role in ensuring the oversight of the efficient operation and maintenance of manufacturing facilities, equipment, and associated tasks. This position requires an individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to overseeing the maintenance of a safe, compliant, clean, and productive work environment and for ensuring the well-being of employees, compliance with regulations, and the overall safety of operations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Manage the routine maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of manufacturing facilities and equipment.
* Conduct inspections, identify issues, and make necessary repairs.
* Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams for complex repairs or upgrades.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
* Address environmental health concerns related to aerospace operations, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainable practices.
* Plan & facilitate PM activities with operations team.
* Maintain appropriate KPI’s aligned to PM & HSE activities for site & auditing purposes.
* Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
* Conduct risk assessments for various activities, identify potential hazards, and develop strategies to mitigate risks effectively.
* Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, or near-misses, analyse root causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards or non-compliance issues and take corrective actions as necessary.
* Report safety hazards or concerns promptly.
* Participate in safety training and drills as required.
* Ensure a clean and organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
* Dispose of waste materials properly and manage recycling initiatives.
* Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and certifications specific to Nasmyth Group.
* Maintain accurate records of quality tests, inspections, and audits in accordance with regulatory and industry requirements.
* Develop and maintain company-specific health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
* Identify potential hazards and assess risks in all aspects of operations, including manufacturing, testing, and maintenance.
* Keep track of inventory levels for tools, equipment, and materials.
* Place orders for supplies when necessary and ensure their availability.
* Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support production requirements.
* Manage a team of maintenance and labourers.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues in various departments to achieve common goals.
* Communicate effectively to address any facility-related issues or improvement suggestions.
* Ensure that suppliers, contractors, and third-party vendors adhere to safety standards and requirements when working on behalf of the organization on site.
Core Skills
* In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and standards such as OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001.
* Prior experience in facility maintenance and general labour.
* Familiarity with basic hand tools and equipment.
* Experience in Health & Safety protocols and practices.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels and collaborate cross-functionally.
* Leadership abilities to drive change, promote a culture of safety, and influence stakeholders to prioritise health and safety initiatives.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement in safety performance.
Desirable
* Member of either IOSH, IIRSM, IWFM, IEMA.
* Auditing Experience.
