Job Summary
This is a Fixed Term/Secondment vacancy until 17/05/2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to become part of the community specialist palliative care service in Carmarthenshire. This is a chance to join a team that is committed to improving quality of life for people and those closest to them who require symptom control, psychological care and are living with a progressive, life-limiting illness.
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated nurse to join our Palliative Care Team. Previous experience of working in community teams/settings is desirable; however, all applications will be considered.
Main duties of the job
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidenced-based nursing care.
* Provide specialist advice and excellent clinical practice.
* Work autonomously and manage own workload/caseload.
* Provide specialist education and training to staff.
* Work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues.
* Demonstrate the Health Board's values and ensure that others demonstrate the same values.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* Registered Nurse (Part 1)
* Current NMC registration
* Bachelor's Degree
* Post registration/postgraduate qualification in specialist area/evidence of post registration study at equivalent level e.g. SPQ/Proficient level of knowledge in clinical specialty
* Knowledge of service improvement
* Able to undertake a literature search and critically appraise research papers
Desirable
* Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience)
* Advanced clinical skills
* Non-medical Prescribing (V300)

* Relevant experience at Band 5
