EYFS Teaching Assistant (SEN Experience) Location: Accrington Position: Full-time EYFS Teaching Assistant Start Date: 6 th January 2025 Salary: £12.90 - £14 per hour We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team at our Primary School in Accrington. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual with a passion for supporting young learners, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), in their early development and learning. Key Responsibilities: Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences for EYFS children, with a focus on children with SEN. Provide tailored support to individual students or small groups, helping them to access the curriculum and make progress. Assist in the development and implementation of personalized learning plans for children with specific needs. Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment where all children can thrive. Work closely with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children with SEN. Help with the preparation and organization of learning resources and classroom activities. Contribute to the ongoing monitoring and assessment of children’s progress, especially those with additional learning needs. You will need to: Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within an EYFS setting. Have experience supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech and Language difficulties, and Emotional and Behavioural difficulties. Have a solid understanding of the EYFS framework and child development. Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach when working with children. Possess excellent communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with children, colleagues, and parents. Be proactive, flexible, and willing to work as part of a team to meet the needs of all children. Hold relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent).
