An opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Research Engineer to join the Jaguar TCS Racing department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.
About the role
To develop future vehicle projects in all areas through modelling, simulation, design and testing with the sole aim of delivering performance and reliability to the race cars.
What you will do
* Be energetic and enthusiastic for making our racing cars faster and more reliable to continue our world-leading programme.
* Be proactive in analysing and quantifying potential improvements in all areas of car design and operations.
* Work on medium to long term projects to bring performance and reliability to future cars.
* Use software and simulation tools where necessary to demonstrate potential improvement.
* Define, design, manufacture and conduct any resulting experiments, thereby delivering improved on-track performance.
* Analyse data from tests and races, actively finding areas for improvement and proposing solution methodologies.
* Be humble and inquisitive.
* Attend track testing occasionally to support development hardware.
About you
* Have experience finding performance in electric racing series.
* Have design and manufacturing experience to provide a one-stop solution to testing ideas.
* Have hands-on experience with mechanical systems in a rig environment, and a logical approach to fault-finding.
* Have software experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, MATLAB, C#, embedded C.
* Be highly organised and comfortable working under pressure.
* Have clear written and verbal communication skills.
* Be open and self-motivated to find performance and reliability through trying new ideas.
