East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust Libraries Service is looking for a committed and enthusiastic person to devise and deliver project-based sessions using Minecraft, coding, and other digital technologies.
You will be part of the Children & Families Team which offers activities like class visits, BookBug sessions, Code Club, Minecraft Club, crafts, and activity days within our libraries. We have recently received funding to develop and extend our digital offer, and a large part of this temporary post will be trialling, delivering, and embedding sessions for 10-15 year olds with an emphasis on participants planning and creating small projects.
Required skills:
* Coding (Scratch/Python), Minecraft, digital equipment
* Organisational and teamwork skills
* Numeracy, diagnostic, and analytical skills
* Presentational/delivery skills
* Written and verbal communication skills and ability to tailor communication depending on the audience
* ICT and/or data management skills
* Comfortable with standard office software such as Excel, Outlook, and Word
There will be considerable flexibility in the hours with a standard weekly pattern plus the ability to add extra hours to cover experimentation with sessional programmes, especially afternoons (3 – 7pm), Saturdays, and during the school holidays. There will be scope for discussion with the post-holder in creating schedules.
