Speech and Language Therapy Support Practitioner - (Adult Team)
We have an exciting opportunity within the speech and language therapy (SLT) team as an entry-level support practitioner. The successful candidate will be working with the adult team based at New Cross Hospital.
We are looking for someone who has a broad knowledge of SLT and a passion for working with adults in a hospital setting. The SLT team delivers a communication and dysphagia service to all adults across New Cross Hospital, including: Stroke; frailty; ED; acute medical unit; intensive care; head and neck cancer.
The successful candidate will be kind, caring, compassionate, and capable of working well within a team. They must be self-motivated with the ability to work under their own initiative following a period of training.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Assist with the direct care of patients as delegated to and supervised by the Speech and Language Therapist.
2. Provide support to the team, working collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary team and contributing positively to the delivery of high-quality compassionate care.
3. Uphold the fundamental standards of safety and quality, always putting the patients first and protecting them from harm.
4. Demonstrate the values of the NHS and commitment to personal and professional development.

Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs grade 9-4 or equivalent/equivalent experience
* Adequate communication skills
* Knowledge of healthcare settings/SLT
