The Directorate is responsible for ensuring that students have an excellent experience and provides services across the student and academic lifecycle from enrolment to graduation, covering everything from wellbeing services to ensuring new courses are set up correctly. Based within the Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences (HELS), the work of our Placements Team is essential to supporting thousands of placements each year. As a Faculty Operations Assistant you will help with the operational processes within the Placement Team, including student travel expenses, absence and uniform processing. Our Placements Team are part of a dynamic and evolving landscape of practice-learning which reaches beyond our many partners into placements within communities across the region. The post holder will work collaboratively with placement leads to ensure business and support services are effective, efficient and sustainable in meeting the needs of our students, staff and stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring data quality with a right first-time ethos for all data within their business area. Your responsibilities will also include processing student travel reimbursement claims, recording student placement absences, managing student uniform and stock control, and liaising with relevant academic colleagues. You will also act as a key communication point for the Faculty, dealing with telephone queries, and liaising with internal and external clients and organisations. You will be educated to degree level and a 2023/2024 graduate. You will be able to demonstrate a high level of digital capability, employing a range of IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, SharePoint, web-based research, databases, PowerPoint etc, to manage and progress work efficiently. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to draft complex documentation, assimilate and convey complex information in a comprehensible way, and excellent attention to detail. You will be adaptable and self-motivated with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload according to deadlines.
