We are looking for an outstanding Bank Cook with a passion for making a difference to others. You will have the opportunity to work bank shifts at Cygnet Hospital Colchester. Cygnet Hospital Colchester is a 59 bed service providing a range of intensive support and rehabilitation services for men with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders or mental health needs.

Your day-to-day
1. Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals
2. Provide special diets, taking into account individual preferences & needs
3. Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients' nutritional & dietary needs
4. Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
5. Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations
6. Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
7. Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations

You are...
1. A skilled Chef/Cook who can work under pressure
2. Preferably experienced in the care sector
3. Able to plan nourishing & attractive menus within available budgets
4. The holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
5. Polite & professional, with a positive attitude to internal & external guests at all times
6. An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
7. Able to work under your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision
8. [Qualified in catering to City & Guilds 706: 1 & 2 level or NVQ Level 2/3]
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
