About The Role
Excellent opportunity for a Relief Support Worker to join our team across our East Sussex and Newhaven Services.
At Salvation Army Homes, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, high quality housing services, support and resettlement for people who are homeless and who are in need of support and accommodation. As a Relief Support Worker you will need to:
1. Get to know and build the trust of our clients
2. Motivate young people to recognise and unlock their talents
3. Encourage participation in social and leisure programmes
4. Support residents with the practicalities of everyday living
5. Provide administration support and ensure the health and safety of the building and residents.
About The Candidate
A Relief Support Worker will instinctively share our delivery values and behaviours, loving your work, helping people to thrive and always finding a way to be effective.
You will need to:
1. Be a confident and capable communicator, not fazed by difficult situations
2. Be able to build trusting, professional relationships and have a high level of resilience.
3. Take an asset-based approach to empowering people to develop their skills, strengths and talents.
4. Have good knowledge or experience of working with homeless people, and/or supporting vulnerable people or groups.
5. Understand or learn about community resources and organisations that can help our clients.
