Next live opportunity: Business Enablers at MI5 (London, Cheltenham and Manchester): Applications open 18th November.
MI5, MI6 and GCHQ are the UK’s Intelligence Services. We work together to safeguard Britain’s people, interests and businesses from various threats at home, overseas and online, including cyber-attacks, espionage, terrorism, and organised crime. Working across our vital missions, you’ll deliver impact at the heart of national security, all within a supportive and inclusive environment that allows everyone to thrive.
Joining us in an Administrative role at either MI5, MI6 or GCHQ, means you’ll be providing the vital administrative service behind the UK’s Intelligence Services. You could be gathering information, writing reports, managing databases, arranging meetings and travel, or supporting intelligence operations - you’ll work as part of a friendly, collaborative team enabling our organisations to function.
As a Business Enabler with MI5, you’ll also provide mission critical support to help the wider agency protect our national security. While you’ll collaborate with colleagues across the agency, you will be posted to one role which will last a minimum of two years, and see you based in one of our departments. If you join us in London, you could be in Finance, Legal, HR, Project Management or Recruitment (to name just a few). If you choose Cheltenham or Manchester, you could be posted to areas including Recruitment, Vetting, HR, Commercial or Finance. Wherever you’re based, you’ll bring your people skills and a keen attention to detail to a team that values your work.
In whichever role you join us, you’ll receive dedicated training and development; whether you’re seeking your first professional role or looking to bring your existing experience somewhere new, you’ll receive all the support you need to grow and enjoy a uniquely rewarding career.
Minimum Requirements:
To work for us, you need to be a British citizen or hold dual British nationality. You must also meet the eligibility criteria of a 2.2 degree or at least one year of work experience.
These roles require the highest security clearance, known as Developed Vetting (DV). It’s something everyone in the UK Intelligence Community undertakes. You can find out more about the vetting process here:
https://www.mi5.gov.uk/careers/applying-for-jobs/vetting
We’d particularly encourage people from Black, Asian or other ethnic minority backgrounds to register their interest for these roles. There’s no ‘type’ of person we recruit, however we recognise these groups are currently underrepresented in our workforce. We value a culture where different insights, perspectives and experiences are welcomed – and where you’ll always be encouraged to contribute, shape our work and be yourself.
Question and Answer sessions: We’ll be running six sessions in total, but the content will be the same across all of them, so you only need to attend one. Each session will last 45 minutes:
Monday 11th November:
• 12.00 to 12.45
• 15:00 to 15:45
Wednesday 13th November:
• 12:45 to 13:30
• 15:30 to 16:15
Thursday 14th November:

• 14:30 to 15:15
Skills and Application Advice: An online session providing general tips about filling out your application form and preparing for interview:
• Friday 15th November 2024 14.30, this event will last for approximately 1 hour.
*Please note that we are confining registrations of interest to these groups only, due to their current under-representation in our workforce. Once the application window has opened, we welcome applications from all candidates, regardless of their ethnic background, gender, disability and/or any other protected characteristic(s).
All applications will be assessed solely on merit.
