Provide a pro-active, well presented, professional, uniformed security presence for North Bristol Trust.
Working shifts across days, nights, and weekends.
Clear and effective communication with the ability to listen.
Take the lead in coordinating the response to incidents on Trust property including undertaking investigations into suspicious behaviours or criminal activities such as theft and anti-social behaviour.
Remaining calm and professional under pressure during incidents, especially highly stressed and emotive events.
Monitor CCTV for safety events, detection of suspicious behaviour, traffic management.

Conducting scheduled CCTV camera checks.
ID access control and carpark permit systems, creation and activation of staff ID passes and access cards.
Lead participation in the production of all scheduled NHS staff inductions.
Provide exceptional customer service, excellent telephone manner, maintaining a high standard of professionalism and presentation.
Look for opportunities to enhance current security practices and processes.
Promote and assist with ongoing training and development within the Security and Parking team.
Supervising day-to-day Security & Parking operations, ensuring key deliverables are met and service delivery remains high.
Accountable for directing and guiding the team to ensure high standards of operation are maintained. Ensuring that staff complete required duties every shift, all site-specific activities, and taskings as required.
Taking responsibility for all Security and Parking staff on shift, delegating appropriately.
Planning all shift activity, assigning of equipment and duties, allocation of staff breaks.
Ensuring that staff take their breaks in the designated areas and not in the control room.
Promote a pro-security culture within the Trust hospitals so that patients and staff take responsibility, feeling empowered to report to the Security & Parking Team.
Uphold and enforce the Trust Parking policy.
To assist with carpark cash collections, including the use of site vehicles, as required.
Manage and direct the team’s response to all incidents and alarms.
Acting as primary contact during incidents, alarms, and safety events until emergency services or senior management assume control.
Monitoring of all site alarms and systems.
Ensure all team members meet standards in attendance, appearance, and behaviour. Responsibility for staff always being in full, correct uniform before deployment.
Identifying and directly addressing any non-compliance from team members on shift, using conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
Complete Return to Work process for staff returning from sickness/absence.
Operation of all site carpark barriers and designated intercom systems.
Regular checks of equipment and systems, including monthly audits.
Reviewing and securing of incident footage from body worn cameras. Providing feedback and learning points to staff, ensuring that improvements are made where needed.
Reviewing of all incident reports, checking for accuracy and compliance before closing.
Completion of full, accurate, shift handovers on digital system to oncoming Operators.
Arranging of emergency staff cover in the event of any short-notice/out of hours absences.
In the event of a serious incident, responsible for raising escalations on internal systems and ensuring escalation process is followed.
Full responsibility for key management activity and audits.
Management of all Lost/Found property, maintaining accurate record logs and items stored securely.
Responsibility for accurately maintaining the control room visitor book.
Participate in all specified training to remain updated with all procedures and protocols for the role.
Record all events and actions in a digital format and any other required media.
Extract data from digital recorders, copy evidence onto media/Dropbox and complete documentation in accordance with control room procedures.
Conducting and recording scheduled check calls.
Immediately report all equipment faults and defects to management.
Promote a positive attitude towards the Trust, staff, patients, and all visitors.
Fully responsible for ensuring control room is kept clean, tidy, and operational at all times.
To ensure that all national and local Health & Safety requirements are met and maintained, to report all health and safety breaches and/or near misses as per Trust policy.
To comply with all the Trust's Security Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines.
To support risk management for the Division and the Trust by identifying risks or opportunities, implementing, and maintaining existing controls, contingencies, and actions. Reporting all uncontrolled risk to Security management.
Attend and complete all mandatory Security & Parking training to achieve compliance.
In and out of hours supervisory visits to Maternity Reception, Receipt & Dispatch, and Emergency Department for routine quality checks.
Work closely with and support the Police Liaison Unit.
Undertake all reasonable management requests, including covering shifts due to short-notice absences.
Detect and investigate any criminality on Trust property including criminal damage and theft. Investigate and record security incidents in a fair, objective, and professional manner.
Work towards being authorised officers under Criminal Justice Immigration Act 2008.
Central point of contact for fire alarm activations, liaising with Trust Departments and Avon Fire and Rescue Service as appropriate, to minimise the risk to Trust property and those that maybe potentially affected during fire incidents.
