Handy Person Annual Salary: £12 per hour Location: Sheffield, Upper Albert Road Job Type: Full-time (37 hours per week) We are seeking a Handy Person to join our team, providing essential maintenance services at our Care Leavers sites across Sheffield. This role involves working closely with care-experienced young people, helping them transition smoothly into their own tenancies. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a new service model aimed at delivering holistic services to young people with high support needs. Day-to-day of the role: Carry out routine repair and maintenance tasks across various sites. Perform minor repairs on buildings, furniture, and equipment to ensure all facilities are in good working order. Prepare flats for occupancy by young people coming from care, ensuring they are safe and welcoming. Support young people with household maintenance and decorating, helping them to settle into their new homes. Provide advice and support to young people regarding household maintenance, acting as a point of contact for any related queries. Work collaboratively with housing partners to ensure a seamless transition for young people into their accommodations. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in a handy person or maintenance role. Ability to perform a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks. Strong understanding of building maintenance and repair. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide support and advice to young people.
