Job Description
Our Westhill-based client is looking for a Buyer to join their team on an initial 12-month contract.
The Buyer will provide sufficient procurement of material and services under direction and instruction of the appropriate management including shipboard management.
Responsibilities:
* Purchasing and expediting authorised requisitions for stores, spares, equipment and services in a cost-effective manner and maintaining a Purchase Order Log through the Star Planned Maintenance System;
* Obtaining approval for purchase of goods in excess of the prescribed level;
* Selecting goods that fulfil the required specifications, reviewing prices and evaluating bids, on instruction from the PSCM Manager;
* Ensuring the vendor is aware of any special requirements in respect of shipment/ handling of hazardous goods;
* Monitoring progress of requisitioned items and expediting outstanding orders;
* Taking care of returned goods from vessels and dealing with same as required;
* Reviewing and verifying invoices where appropriate
Qualifications:
* Relevant experience in buying marine/ technical equipment and supplies, gained within the international Oil & Gas service industry preferred
* 5+ years of experience
* ERP experience beneficial
