An exciting opportunity has become available to work as a Strategic Planning Assistant within the Council's Strategic Planning Team, in the Planning Department.
The Strategic Planning Team is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals within the Planning Department, providing specialist advice on local plans, minerals and waste, housing, infrastructure, and economic development with a mission to shape future development across Cheshire East.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Strategic Planning Assistant, you will help us prepare plans for future development in the borough. The role provides the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects including:
Developing evidence and policy for the Local Plan;
Managing public engagement and consultation on planning matters
Supporting the development of supplementary plans, guidance and neighbourhood plans.
Cheshire East is one of the busiest Planning Authorities in the country and we have a really diverse portfolio of work across the service. Accordingly the role is also very diverse across a wide range of planning matters that will shape our future. This is a career grade role that offers progression across grades 6-8 and is designed for the right candidate to grow and learn with us. ABOUT YOU
You will:
Already have, or be working towards a relevant degree level qualification
Have some relevant experience
Be an effective team player with great communication skills
Have a flexible approach to work
Have a passion for the built environment and the role that strategic planning plays within it
We're looking for people who are excited about the built environment, who can deliver excellent customer care and who want to help us shape the environment of Cheshire East. The ability to travel throughout Cheshire East and a full UK driving license are required.
This job is offered on a full time (5 days per week) basis.
