Barnet Special School Nursing team are looking for a flexible, motivated and highly skilled health care assistant to join us in supporting children and young people with health needs to attend school and achieve their potential.
We are based in 2 Special Schools in Barnet, Oakleigh School and Maple down but also provide outreach services to Oak Lodge and Northway.
You may be expected to travel between sites to support the nursing team with tasks such as heights and weights so will need excellentcommunication skills, administration and IT skills to support the team in deliveringa high-quality service to the pupils and any professional partners.

The post holder will be an individual that has experience working with children with complex healthcare and additional needs.
You will also demonstrate commitment to continued development and innovation within the team, have the ability to be flexible to the needs of the service and work as part of a team but also autonomously as required as you may be the only member of the nursing team on site on occasions.
The post holder will be supporting the registered nurses within the team, carrying out heights and weights, completing continence assessments and liaising with lots of other agencies.
The Post holder will also support the training of Learning Support Assistants/Teaching assistants to deliver the child's care plan whilst at school.
The post holder will regularly be responsible for the administration of medications to children in school and adhere to all CLCH policies/procedures.
The post holder will be actively involved in participating with the development and implementation of practice within the special schools nursing team ensuring that evidenced based practice is being delivered. to carry out the care plans for the children that are within the special schools.
The team will offer support and training as appropriate to help you develop in the role and support children and young people in special schools to attend and achieve their potential.
