About the role
Reporting to the Shipping Manager, you will work in a team supporting the efficient handling and management of steel materials. Responsibilities include:
1. loading/unloading deliveries
2. operating forklifts and other machinery (training provided if needed)
3. steel material handling and packing into bundles prior to despatch using check and control sheets
4. general labouring duties
5. adhering to all safety regulations, policies and processes and co-operating with our HSE Manager
6. keeping yard area clean, tidy and free from hazards
We will provide comprehensive training to equip you with the skills needed to succeed while working in a safe, rewarding environment.
About you:
As well as being organised and motivated, we would like someone who:
1. has working knowledge on yard process, tools and equipment
2. has great attention to detail and accuracy
3. has energy, enthusiasm, positive and a can-do attitude
4. has the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
5. preferably has structural steelwork experience
6. has a proactive approach to health, safety and environment
We are ideally looking for candidates who are flexible and able to adapt to occasional transitions between day and night shifts, based on business requirements.

What we offer?
1. competitive salary – shift allowance for night work
2. 39 hours per week
3. overtime available
4. 28 days holiday (24 days are paid at basic rate x 1.33)
