Responsibilities of a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant: Support the learning and development of pupils with SEN in a primary school setting. Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and adapting materials as required. Provide one-to-one and small group support to students to enhance their learning experience. Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement. Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment. Monitor and record student progress and report any concerns to the class teacher or SENCO. Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure a consistent approach to student support. Help students develop social skills and build positive relationships with peers. What we need from a Primary SEN TA: Previous experience working with primary-aged children with SEN as a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable. A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance) is desirable. A degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education or a similar field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A caring and patient approach to working with children. Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when necessary.
