Job Purpose:
We’re looking for a Fashion Designer for our new luxury atelier in South Kensington. Your passion for suits and personalised service will shine through your day-to-day work and you’ll create unique designs for our clientele while nurturing a long-term relationship with them.
Responsibilities:
1. Client Appointments: Collaborate with clients during appointment consultations to understand their style preferences, fit requirements and design vision, providing expert advice on garment construction, fabrics and styling elements.
2. Design Development: Develop original suit designs, creating sketches, selecting fabrics, and overseeing customisations to align with the client’s unique personality and our brand’s aesthetic.
3. Technical Design: Create detailed technical drawings and garment specifications, ensuring a seamless translation from concept to final construction.
4. Fittings & Pinning: Complete client fittings, making adjustments as needed to perfect fit, comfort, and style while collaborating closely with the tailoring team to ensure accuracy.
5. Tailoring Project Management: Work closely with our tailoring team to ensure the suits are being developed according to the client’s preferences and designs, tracking each stage of the process to ensure timely completion.
6. Client Communication: Liaise with clients via telephone or email to address enquiries, book appointments, and provide regular updates on the progress of their suit’s construction.
This is a full-time role, 5 days a week, which will include weekends.
Your Profile
1. Degree in Fashion Design or a related field with a focus on menswear or tailoring.
2. Proven experience in menswear design, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in bespoke or made-to-measure fashion.
3. Experience in taking measurements and understanding how to achieve the best fit.
4. Excellent IT skills.
5. Ability to work independently.
6. Experience in interacting with customers and ensuring a luxury personalised experience.
7. Excellent command of the English language.
8. Excellent communication skills and an understanding of EDI.
9. Attention to detail and accuracy.
10. Right to work in the UK.
