Role: Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Location: West Sussex
Salary: £45-49,500 + Bonus + Healthcare + Pension

Their portfolio includes CCGT, OCG and CHP Power plants as well as hydrogen and carbon capture projects to help lower emissions and develop a future for decarbonised, dispatchable, and flexible generation in the UK.
The Position
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician at their West Sussex Power Station. You will be involved in all aspects of mechanical maintenance related activities at the station. The post holder is required to plan, contract, and/or physically carry out mechanical maintenance works at the site, including the preparation of method statements and Risk Assessments, as required.
Responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to undertake a wide range of tasks within their level of competence. The following will be included:
Ensure consistent high levels of housekeeping and safety,
Ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements particularly the Health & Safety at Work Act and the Environmental Protection Act,
Prepare and manage required service and maintenance contracts,
Participate in the implementation of the Company Safety Rules as either Competent Person or Authorised Person to ensure that safety from the system is achieved,
Proactive and creative approach to fault diagnosis and problem solving,
Provide support to ensure maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely, on time, at or below budget, to the correct quality and within the environmental limits of the Support station, and deliver the Process Safety KPI’s associated with areas of responsibility,
Develop understanding of the business and Station objectives,
Input into developing and managing budgets and costs,
Undertake procurement activities within the Company policies and process, including developing technical specifications,
Participation in delivery of major and interim inspections and overhauls, managing contracts and contractors in accordance with commercial requirements.
Deliver hands-on maintenance activities on mechanical equipment & systems, and
Maintain interfaces with suppliers, contractors and other parties. Desired, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
The following are essential:
Experience in the maintenance of CCGT plant or in large-scale process industry,
Educated to HNC standard in a mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent qualifications and experience,
Computer literacy skills, and Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation
