As Technical Manager at Hayes, you'll be the technical lead for all activities within the Data Centre with some of the below key responsibilities : Technical Manager: Provide technical support to the Data Centre Manager (DCM) Maintain & develop engineering skills for all technical staff onsite. Responsible for ensuring all Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Methods of Operations (MOP) are in place and accurate for their site (s). Work with the DCM to help stay within the SLAs. Oversee the general quality of third-party works on site including the technical ability and competency of the FM and 3rd party vendors. Validate that Two Party Verification is being followed by the TSMs on site. Manage a team of Technical Shift Managers (TSMs) Ensure the team know the correct escalations process, especially for client (and any potentially client-affecting) issues. Assist in the pre and post-review and signoff of plan works on-site. Assist VIRTUS teams with asset management of new assets(asset tagging), asset lifecycle planning, technical feasibility and critical spares. Assist in validating the site capacity readings. Provide feedback on change control and customer power allocations. As a Technical Manager here at VIRTUS Data Centres you'll need: Experience in a Data Centre or other similar critical Management role. Experience in managing and developing a team of direct reports. Strong and demonstrable process management experience in a live operational environment. Real-time Incident/fault management experience in a business-critical environment. Experience with business continuity, risk management, incident management and day-to-day engineering tasks. Good health and safety and environmental knowledge. Mechanical or electrical engineering with working knowledge of BMS, PMS and fire systems. Flexible, adaptable and innovative. Strong collaboration with multiple streams of stakeholders, ranging from colleagues, service partners, clients and third-party support vendors. Strong ownership, accountability and sense of urgency to drive issues to conclusion. Good communication skills (verbal and written) Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, with the requirement to participate in the escalation management on call rota and working out-of-hours, to oversee critical work and manage the escalation of serious issues on sites.
