Occasional overtime may be required.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nThe Automotive Heavy Vehicle Technical Trainer will be responsible for training apprentices or commercial delegates to the highest standards at a Wolverhampton training centre, enabling them to achieve industry-accredited qualifications.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have a proven track record in heavy vehicle maintenance and a strong understanding of the latest technologies, including electrical diagnostics.
While previous training experience is desirable, it is not essential, as training will be provided for the right candidate. A recognized qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Level 3 or equivalent is required.\n\nDay-to-Day Duties\n\n * Delivering training and education in a safe and effective manner, adhering to health and safety, COSHH, and other regulations.\n\n * Preparing and using training aids as needed.\n\n * Supporting the team in maintaining discipline and ensuring trainees comply with policies.\n\n * Mapping progress, assessing knowledge, and completing awarding body documentation.\n\n * Providing welfare support and guidance to apprentices and their employers.\n\n * Staying current with technological developments and vocational CPD.\n\n * Collaborating with team leaders to improve training and assessment processes.\n\nEssential Skills\n\n * An industry recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Level 3 or equivalent.\n\n * Teaching Qualifications such as PTTLS.\n\n * English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent.\n\n * Proven experience with electrical diagnostics and modern automotive technology.\n\n * Strong communication skills.\n\n * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).\n\n * Full UK driving licence for subject specialism.\n\nDesirable Skills\n\n * Recent experience with English and Maths (or willingness to train).\n\n * Experience working with apprentices or young people.\n\n * Assessing or TAQA qualification.\n\n * First Aid certification.\n\nThis role is ideal for someone with a passion for education and automotive excellence, looking to advance their career while shaping the next generation of industry professionals
