An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic nurse to join our established children's epilepsy nursing team. The post holder would join the epilepsy specialist nurse team, providing care in the management of varying epilepsy seizure conditions across the Newcastle area.
The successful applicant will have significant post registration experience, ideally including children's epilepsy care. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about epilepsy care, self-motivated and innovative. You should have the ability to work autonomously, manage a large, shared caseload, be forward thinking, responsive to the needs of patients and the service, and work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
The post requires travel across the Newcastle area. A current driving licence and car ownership is essential.

Main duties of the job
* Effectively manage a caseload under the clinical supervision of the Band 7
* Effectively manage their time, coordinating clinics, community visits and MDT meetings
* Maintain high standards of care within all care settings (including hospital, community and educational)
* Provide a patient centred and holistic approach to optimise the patient's quality of life
* Act as an advocate for the patients and their families
* Work collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary team, including social, educational and voluntary sectors
* Integrate with the Paediatric Epilepsy Network North East and Cumbria
* The candidate should be proactive, forward thinking and innovative to support the service lead in continuously improving epilepsy care
* Ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework, champion service user safety and dignity, and support colleagues in the drive for continuous improvement

* Current NMC registration

* Current driving licence if relevant to role

* Degree in health related subject
