We are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our team and provide a person-centred, needs-led service to adults with a learning and/or physical disability at both Blue Cedars and Tall Oaks, Farnborough, Hampshire.
A Senior Support Worker will be required to assist with all activities of daily living and support the residents to participate in a range of activities within the home and community. We use a person-centred approach focusing on supporting people to make their own choices, follow their own interests and gain independence. We empower people to choose how they want to live their life.
Main purpose of the role of Senior Support Worker
1. To support the Home Manager in ensuring the smooth running, organisation and management of the home.
2. Lead, motivate, and direct a team of support workers to deliver outstanding person-centred care.
3. Develop and oversee individualised care plans, ensuring they are effectively implemented and reviewed.
4. Provide hands-on support to individuals with complex behaviours, acting as a role model for best practices.
5. Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing regular supervision, training, and development opportunities.
6. Ensure compliance with all organisational policies and regulatory standards.
7. Liaise with families, other Mysa care and external professionals to coordinate care and promote well-being.
8. Identify and address risks, promoting a safe and supportive environment for staff and individuals.
9. Manage rotas, resources, and documentation to ensure smooth service delivery.
This role includes on-call responsibilities and a possibility of up to 4 sleep-in shifts per month. Sleep-in shifts are paid at a rate of £35 per sleep.
About the Services
Tall Oaks and Blue Cedars are in close proximity of each other in Farnborough and therefore this role would require support at either home. Both provide residential support and accommodation for up to six adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism, sensory impairments and complex needs.
Staff at both services have shown proven effectiveness in contributing to the quality of life of the residents, whilst maintaining a comfortable and friendly environment.
