POSITION SUMMARY:
The Goods In/Out Quality Inspector will ensure that all incoming and outgoing goods meet Slingco’s quality standards. Key responsibilities include verifying shipment accuracy, conducting visual and dimensional inspections, and maintaining detailed records. The inspector will collaborate closely with the warehouse and production teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance with industry standards, ensuring all customer-specific and traceability requirements are met.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Inspect Incoming and Outgoing Goods, verifying the quality and quantity of shipments and ensuring they meet specifications and standards.
* Maintain accurate records of inspections, including any defects or discrepancies, and where required, upload into the MRP system for record keeping and traceability.
* Conduct random spot checks on goods to ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards.
* Inspect raw materials and wire to ensure they meet quality specifications.
* Conduct testing using various measurement tools and techniques to assess the quality of goods.
* Identify areas for improvement in the inspection process and implement new methods to enhance efficiency and quality.
* Generate Quality Alerts to notify relevant teams of any quality issues.
* Create and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) to document and address quality issues.
* Report findings and recommendations to the warehouse and production teams and record any non-conformance issues identified during inspections.
* Segregate and quarantine non-conforming products to prevent them from being used or shipped.
* Attend production and quality meetings to discuss inspection results and quality improvements.
* Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including warehouse, supply chain, and production teams, to ensure smooth operations.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
* Good standard of Maths, English & Science (i.e. GCSE Grade C or above / equivalent).
* PC Literate – good use of Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and other software packages.
* Close attention to detail is essential.
* The ability to prioritise tasks and manage own workload is essential.
* Good communication and problem-solving skills is essential.
* Understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances is desirable.
* Experience of using measurement software and equipment is desirable.
