About the role…
Our client's Commercial Team is working on the successful United Utilities account, and they are looking for a motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team. You will support the Commercial team in carrying out normal commercial and contractual duties, assist the operational teams as required, comply with our client's values, and ensure maximum recovery of contractual entitlement.
This is a full-time permanent role and is a hybrid working position from home and their office in Warrington.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
1. Support the Commercial Team to ensure compliance with systems, processes, and procedures on Contracts.
2. Work within strict deadlines required under the Contract(s).
3. Financial monitoring and reporting of Contracts assigned.
4. Assisting and establishing suitable construction contracts with clients to suit procurement needs.
5. Preparation of accurate financial statements in respect of Contracts assigned.
6. Ensuring proper administration of the Contract requirements including all variations (changes) to the works.
7. Assist with commercial completion of the Contracts including maintaining contemporary records for use in supporting claims, extensions of time, and evaluation of variations.
8. Manage the appointment and ongoing management of subcontractors including payment applications, final accounts, etc.
9. Ensure prompt submission of invoices and/or applications of payment to clients.
10. Assist Business Development in producing information for PQQ's and Tenders.
About you…
1. HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
2. Degree qualification or studying towards (RICS or equivalent) is desirable but not mandatory.
3. Clean Driving Licence.
4. Ability to work within a delivery team with multiple drivers.
5. Experience in NEC3 or 4 Contracts with target cost, fixed price, and/or cost reimbursable mechanisms.
