Our Team
It's an exciting time to join Virgin Money as we embark on a new journey with big ambitions and strategic goals. To help us achieve those we're seeking experienced Project Managers to work on an aspiring portfolio of change projects across several areas including Risk, Infrastructure, Payments, Cyber and Data. You'll be responsible for all aspects of the project management life cycle, ensuring successful delivery for Virgin Money's sponsors, stakeholders and customers. What you'll be doing
1. Working with Portfolio Leads and Senior Project Managers to manage projects and change initiatives using formal methodologies and lifecycles.
2. Ensuring the project adheres to the Change Book of Standard Procedures and apply governance from through initiation, design, build and support of test phases.
3. Ensuring the project delivers on time and within budget whilst remaining aligned to the strategy, with a disciplined change control process.
4. Taking accountability, assessing situations and making critical decisions when faced with complex demands and issues that can, and will, arise throughout the project life cycle.
5. Leading and coordinating teams of diverse technical and non-technical resources across multiple geographic sites and engaging effectively with external 3rd party service providers.
6. Identifying key resources and collaborating with and influencing internal and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are delivered.
7. Issue management, Risk assessment, analysis and planning including escalation as required.
8. Preparing and delivering regular project status reports.
We need you to have
1. Solid experience in change and project management with the financial services or a corporate environment.
2. A proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex projects.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills and gravitas to engage with senior leaders, negotiate with stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and influence decisions.
4. A sound understanding of project management methodologies both Waterfall and Agile with exposure to releases, such as rapid deployment and the more traditional methods.
5. An understanding of relevant technologies, methodologies, and industry practices related to the project domain.
6. Experience of successfully motivating and leading teams towards project goals while fostering a collaborative work environment.
7. A curious mindset as you identify potential risks, assess impact, and develop mitigation strategies.
