As a Finance Business Partner, you will be integral in making a meaningful difference for our local population, supporting the Health Board. The role will require the translation and triangulation of operational strategies into financial cost and benefits, with an overall aim of ensuring service resilience, sustainability, and value for money.
The post will be supporting Carmarthenshire Health System comprising of Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen, Prince Philip General Hospital, Llanelli, and Carmarthen County Directorates.
The Finance Business Partner will form part of a team led by a Senior Finance Business Partner and is supported by a Finance Business Partners
Main duties of the job
This unique role covers Acute and Community sectors which offers an opportunity to work across directorates encouraging integration and transformation of services throughout the Health Board.
Provide strong financial leadership to the Directorates you support ensuring their performance delivery, providing appropriate governance and sound professional advice and support.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that a robust financial management and planning process is in place including supporting the Directorates Senior Finance Business Partner in providing sustainable financial planning including:-
Modelling and tracking spend plans against Welsh Government funding allocations.
Provide support in annual programmes of work targeted to deliver savings.
Develop and support on creation of business cases to deliver change in the Health Board. Capacity demand modelling. Activity performance analysis. System wide analysis.
Providing financial updates at various forums on spend and projected costs to assist with decision making.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:
