The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust
At Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT), we are committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services for the communities we serve. Our mission is to provide outstanding care through innovation, collaboration, and an unwavering focus on continuous improvement.
The Princess Alexandra Hospital has embarked on a significant transformation and modernisation of how it records clinical activity by implementing Oracle Cerner Millennium. This will revolutionise the way clinical data and activity are being recorded and accessed.
The Trust is now seeking to attract a highly motivated, ambitious and enthusiastic individual as Senior Income Accountant to understand the activity coming out of the new system and work closely with operational and information colleagues on a 12-month Fixed Term or secondment. You will be working in the Finance department.
This is an excellent opportunity for those wanting to be part of an enthusiastic and pro-active team and positively contribute to the development of the department and drive forward change. Development of a service orientated culture is at the heart of the finance department and you can expect to engage with colleagues, whose role is to support clinical teams, on a regular basis and so well-developed communication skills will be essential.
Main duties of the job
1. Project management of the entire process of understanding the data flow from legacy systems to the Oracle Electronic Health Records (EHR), internally known as AlexHealth, output. This will require comparing data from Alex Health and what the Trust traditionally received from other systems and talking to key stakeholders about any variances.
2. The post holder will work with other stakeholders and advise on the data quality improvement to the Trust's Executive Management Team.
3. Lead and develop the process of activity reconciliation with clinical and operational heads in understanding what has been delivered against what is being reported. The post holder will be involved in gathering and understanding highly complex data and their sources and using extensive data manipulation skills to report in a standardised format.
4. Work with the strategy team in understanding data and advise the New Hospital Programme on the clinical activity data from Alex Health.
5. Work with Oracle implementation and workstream leads to ensure that Cerner activity outputs reflect what was intended and how the activity was delivered and jointly work out a plan to address any issues with operational, income and clinical teams. Understand different workflows for different types of activity.
