Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Reading
Hours: Part-time (3 days per week)
Are you passionate about making a difference in pupils' lives? Do you thrive in a supportive educational environment? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant school in the Reading area.
As a HLTA, you will:
- Attend to pupils' personal needs and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, hygiene, first aid, and welfare matters.
- Supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning opportunities.
- Provide PPA cover for class teachers as required.
- Use strategies, in liaison with the class teacher, to support pupils in achieving their learning goals.
- Deliver engaging literacy and numeracy programmes.
- Establish positive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and addressing individual needs appropriately.
- Promote inclusion, acceptance, and equality for all pupils.
- Encourage pupils to interact with their peers and engage in classroom activities.
- Support pupils in developing independence in line with their abilities.
- Assist in preparing classrooms for lessons, tidying afterward, and creating vibrant displays of pupils' work.
- Monitor and report pupils' progress, achievements, and any concerns to the teacher.

- Has a genuine passion for working with children and helping them reach their potential.
- Demonstrates a proactive, adaptable, and caring approach to supporting pupils.
- Possesses excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Holds relevant qualifications or experience as a HLTA (or similar role).
- Can work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
