Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities Team as a Facilities Operative - Environmental Driver.
We are looking for highly motivated and energetic individuals who are committed to enhancing the patient & customer experience, therefore you must have a passion for providing a high level of customer service.
This post will involve the day-to-day driving of health board vehicles collecting all types of waste. You will be required to travel between all sites within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
The hours are 37.33 per week to be worked 06:00 - 14:30.
Main duties of the job
1. Carry out the daily collection and disposal of all waste from the wards and departments.
2. Ensure recycling procedures are applied where appropriate.
3. Carry out the daily collection of foul linen from wards and departments.
4. Ensure the compound areas are clear of rubbish and litter.
5. Thoroughly clean the waste bins and collection cages on a rotational basis.
6. Assist with the removal and storage of furniture.
7. External environment duties e.g. litter collection.
8. Support the collection and disposal of Confidential Waste.

Education & Training
Essential criteria
* Basic general education.
* Literate & Numerate.
* Willingness to undertake & complete the ABUHB facilities competency workbook (within 6 months).
* Willingness to undertake & complete statutory & mandatory training.
* Willingness to undertake future training as required by the post.
Desirable criteria
* BIFM/NVQ level 2.
