Overview
As part of the Global Field Marketing Team, the MI & CI Team Leader provides insights into our global markets, customers and competitors. The role involves managing a global team and external vendors to gather market data and intelligence that will inform strategic and tactical decision-making. The team will provide insights and share actionable recommendations based on assessments of markets and competitors, both existing and potential. These actionable insights will support key planning and tactical activities of the Global Commercial Organization's Field Marketing teams.
Please note that this is a hybrid role: 3 days onsite in our Watford office and 2 days home office opportunity.
How You’ll make an impact:
1. Design, plan and implement market research and competitive intelligence activities that profile the Life Sciences and Clinical Diagnostic markets and competitive environments (regional and global in scope). This includes thorough, systematic analysis of key industry trends, the general economic and funding environment, current and potential competitors. Also includes design and implementation of ad hoc strategic projects, involving primary and secondary market research.
2. Provide market and competitive insights and actionable recommendations through presentations and reports to Executive & Commercial leaders and various other internal stakeholders. This includes taking the lead to supply market insights and competitive intelligence for the annual strategic planning process and quarterly business reviews. The role is also responsible for guiding the MI/CI team to create and update comprehensive industry, competitor and customer reports including market share, growth projections and trends, and market forces.
3. Maintaining up-to-date archive of reports and data sources, evaluating their credibility and potential utility, and creating limited visibility and access to market data and reports to stakeholders in Field Marketing and Sales.
4. Manage, coach and develop an international team comprised of regional market research analysts.
5. Developing and managing budget allocation for key vendors including agencies and subscriptions
What You’ll bring:
6. Preferred Master’s degree (or equivalent) with 5+ years of leadership experience in Market Research role
7. Experience in market insight and competitive intelligence roles in the Life Science and Diagnostics Industries
8. Preferred Master’s degree (or equivalent) with 5+ years of leadership experience in Market Research role
9. Languages: fluent in English, any other language is a plus
10. Experience in people management and project leadership
11. Proven ability to lead and manage a global Market Intelligence team/function to meet commercial needs
12. Experienced in deriving meaningful and relevant insights from a variety of external and internal data sources to meet commercial needs
13. Strong analytical skills: demonstrated strength in assimilating complex information, problem solving and analysis; ability to align analysis to strategic relevance
14. Strong communication skills: ability to clearly communicate complex information and data; strong oral and written communication and presentation skills; able to present at all levels of the organisation
15. Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple projects concurrently to meet internal timelines
16. Entrepreneurial and strategic mindset. Proven ability to think creatively, proactively developing new ideas and forward-thinking solutions
17. Ability to operate independently and remain aligned to different stakeholders in a global matrixed organisation
