Job summary
The Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (SNEEICB) are looking for a registered nurse who is committed to supporting theneeds of Children in Care, Care, Care leavers and in Safeguarding Children. Thepost holder will be part of a Designated Professionals team and lead in theensuring the health needs of Children in Care and Care Leavers are met withinthe Suffolk area of SNEE ICB. They willbe play a leading role in the Multi-Agency response and planning for this groupof young people. They will be knowledgeable about Child safeguarding and be confidentin supporting health colleagues in their safeguarding responsibilities. Thepost holder will lead on training and development. They will be confident intheir communication skills across the spectrum of individuals and audiences.They will represent the ICB at Board level meetings. Theywill be a leading role in developing the ICBs health infrastructure to meet theneeds of the young people. They will undertake audits and reviews. They will bepart of multiagency reviews and development. This is a leadership role acrossall partner agencies.

Undertaking ahighly strategic overview of services for Looked After Children (children incare), Care Leavers (CL) and safeguarding children (SC).
Through commissioners, support the development of and monitor adedicated health service in Suffolk which meets the national statutoryrequirements for CIC, CL and SC, identifying gaps in service provision andprovide commissioners with relevant information that supports the commissioningprocess.
Participate in the planning, commissioning and procurement totransform health services for children through strategic partnerships and otherpolicy making forums ensuring that the needs of CiC and SC are at the centre ofall planning arrangements.

The postholder will provide a strategic commissioning role for Looked After Children(Children in Care), Care Leavers and Safeguarding Children to the Suffolk andNorth East Essex ICB and work collaboratively within Suffolk SafeguardingClinical Network (SCN) and across the Suffolk and North East Essex IntegratedCare System
This senior clinical post will deliver expert strategic leadershipand direction for Children in Care (CiC), Care Leavers and SafeguardingChildren (SC) throughout the NEE Locality and across SNEE ICB, maintaining andimproving the quality of services and contribute to the planning andcommissioning of new services for children ensuring that the needs of CiC and Sare central to this process.
The post holder will provide highly expert advice and consultancyto staff, senior managers, NEE and Suffolk ICB board members and NHS England toimprove the health of Children in Care, Care Leavers and Safeguarding Childrento ensure that the statutory responsibilities of the ICB are met.

Knowledge, Training and Experience

10. Registered Nurse, Midwife or Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Registration or Childrens Nurse (on part one of the NMC register).
11. Professional knowledge acquired through degree /diploma supplemented by specialist safeguarding and Children in Care training, experience, short courses.
12. Educated to Masters Level or evidence of working towards Masters Level or equivalent level of experience or knowledge.
13. 5 years post registration clinical experience and working at a senior level.
14. Experience of strong leadership and good management principles within a multiagency arena.
15. Significant post registration experience of working with vulnerable groups relevant to the post. Multi-disciplinary working and experience of care proceedings.
16. Have knowledge and be able to share knowledge of current legislation and guidance in Looked After children (CIC) and Safeguarding Children and of health and social care policies.
17. Thorough and expert knowledge of child health and development. Knowledge of national inquiries into Child Protection.
18. Knowledge of Data Protection, Human Rights legislation and national guidance on information sharing.
19. Demonstrated capability to act upon incomplete information, using experience to make inferences and decision making.
