Holiday Club Assistant Supervisor
This role is an adhoc role with the school and shifts will vary depending on the holiday season and demand for the holiday club. The role will be paid at £15 per hour and the successful candidate will have access to a range of benefits including holiday pay, pension and use of the facilities and grounds. The Role
A dynamic independent day school is seeking a Holiday Club Assistant Supervisor to support its childcare service. This service provides a fun, engaging, and nurturing environment for children aged 2 to 7 years during school holidays, including Easter, Summer, and half-term breaks.
As a key member of the team, you will help to ensure a safe, structured, and enjoyable experience for children, making full use of the school's exceptional grounds, including woodlands, fields, streams, and a secret garden. You will work closely with the Supervisor, supporting activities, supervising play, and fostering a welcoming environment for all children.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and engage small groups of children in planned activities.
Lead and facilitate play and learning experiences using the school's extensive outdoor space.
Assist with setting up activities, including preparing materials and resources.
Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of facilities.
Serve meals, snacks, and drinks.
Encourage positive play and maintain the school's high standards of behaviour and safety.
Work collaboratively with the team to create a family-friendly environment.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent) and experience working with young children. You should be caring, sensitive, and able to understand the needs of children at different developmental stages. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A flexible and proactive approach, along with a commitment to maintaining a safe, stimulating, and fun environment, is key. You will also consent to a DBS check and must have your own method of transport due to rural location.
This role could suit someone who has worked as a Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, or Playgroup Supervisor.
