Arriva Road Transport Services (ARTS), part of Arriva UK Trains, manages all aspects of coaches, buses, taxis, and coordinators for rail replacement, special events, school support, and train crew support across our customer portfolio.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Taxi Permit Administrator based in our Derby offices. Reporting to the Compliance and Safety Manager, you will administer Station Taxi Ranks across ARTS supply chain, including managing vehicle and associated licensing checks for all vehicles operating from station ranks.
Administration Responsibilities:
* Process annual permit applications.
* Ensure only permit holder(s) operate within the contract scope.
* Conduct compliance checks at taxi ranks to meet licensing standards.
Safety Responsibilities:
* Promote collaboration with stakeholders to plan and sustain unannounced inspections of vehicles and driver compliance.
* Work as part of a team to deliver safe and efficient taxi crew movements through desk-based permit application management.
* Manage all aspects of the taxi permit administration process, presenting data periodically to the Safety & Compliance Manager.
Compliance Responsibilities:
* Ensure taxi operators and drivers are informed and compliant with new safety-related laws and regulations.
* Plan and undertake visits to operators or on-the-ground operations to ensure adherence to Health and Safety.
* Support the Safety and Compliance Manager with audit report writing and follow-up actions.
* Promote change initiatives within the Compliance and Safety department.
* Assist with collation of KPI data and risk/opportunity information for monthly operational meetings.
Qualifications:
* Understanding of Health and Safety within the workplace and operations.
* Strong organizational skills for managing permit applications and documentation.
* Ability to work independently.
* Proficient in maintaining accurate databases and filing systems.
* Effective interaction with taxi operators, especially in handling inquiries and complaints.
* Excellent written and IT skills for presenting audit and performance results.
* Full and valid driving license is essential.
This role may require occasional weekend work for compliance checks or audits during significant events. The successful candidate will manage their own diary and engage with stakeholders on the ground.
