Do you fancy coming and joining an award winning team for a unique rewarding experience?
Are you a Pharmacy Technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council looking for a new challenge?
If your answers are yes then we would like to hear from you!
We are one of the biggest and busiest NHS trusts in the country, incorporating the General, Glenfield and Royal Infirmary hospitals. We have our very own Children’s Hospital and run one of the country’s leading heart centres. Our team is made up of more than 17,000 staff providing a range of services primarily for the one million residents of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The Pharmacy Clinical Trials service at University Hospital of Leicester (UHL) is a key part of the clinical research multi-disciplinary team which aims to provide a safe and efficient service in the conduct of Investigational Medical Product (IMP) studies across the University Hospital Leicester's three sites. The Pharmacy Clinical Trials service is friendly, varied and busy service with a portfolio of over 200 IMP studies. University Hospital Leicester is one of the largest and busiest teaching trusts in the country and provides care to over one million people in Leicestershire and Rutland. Leicester is a vibrant city with excellent transport links.
We are looking for a GPHC-registered Pharmacy Technician to assist our Clinical Trials Pharmacists, Lead Pharmacy Technicians and fellow co-ordinators in the smooth running of our expanding Clinical Trials Service. This role will be based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary; however the successful candidate may on occasion be required to work at other sites.
Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).
We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence
And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.
Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team
This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust:
We are looking for a responsible, progressive, pro-active, hard-working individual with strong communication and problem solving skills, a positive attitude to work and enthusiasm to learn and develop the service. You will be required to work to the strict guidance of ICH GCP, the European Clinical Trials Directive, Trust and Departmental SOPs. You should have excellent organisational skills as it is essential that you are able to prioritise work and ensure all clinical trial documentation is accurate and legible.
In this role you will be expected to liaise with multidisciplinary research teams, commercial companies, non-commercial organisations, clinicians and the local Research & Innovation Department to ensure comprehensive clinical trials support, therefore a professional attitude to the role is essential. Clinical trials experience is desirable but not essential.
As part of this job, you will be expected to work as part of the wider pharmacy team and contribute to evenings, weekends, bank holiday and on-call shifts as appropriate.
If you have the required qualifications, feel that your skills suit the job description and would enjoy this development opportunity working within the Pharmacy Clinical Trials service then we would love to hear from you.
