We are looking for a consultant for a permanent part time position working 5 PA's/sessions within the Department of Restorative Dentistry in Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This post will be part of the team for Restorative Head and Neck Cancer treatment, which has been developed to expand and enhance secondary hospital-based Oncology Restorative Rehabilitation Dentistry Services in Preston.
The successful applicant must hold full registration with the General Dental Council and be on the Specialist list for Restorative Dentistry. Possession of FDS or MFDS (or equivalent) plus FDS (Restorative Dentistry) or equivalent is essential or be within 6-months of completion of post-CCST training and attaining the necessary qualifications at the time of the interview.
Applicants should have established skills in Restorative Dentistry. A commitment to, and experience of Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching, and a research interest.
You will be expected to show drive and initiative towards patient care, putting the patient first in line with the Trust's core values.
You will be expected to have a high level of knowledge and expertise in the field of Restorative Dentistry and its mono specialties and be able to demonstrate a high-quality approach to patient management.
You will be required to provide all aspects of Prosthodontic treatment (fixed, removable and implant supported), for multidisciplinary cases. Proficiency in diagnosis and treatment planning in endodontics and dento-alveolar trauma is also required.
The position requires attendance at the HNC MDT meetings and restorative assessment/rehabilitation of these patients.
Participation in issues such as clinical effectiveness relating to patient management is essential, as well as sharing in the administrative tasks in the Department and Division. You will be expected to work closely with the highly skilled, well-established teams based at both sites (RPH and CDH) in terms of both within the division, inter-departmentally and part of wider multi-disciplinary teams and networks.
