Job Title: Principal Engineer- Systems (Assurance and Governance)
We are seeking a skilled Principal Engineer to join our team in Barrow in Furness. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of assurance and governance activities, driving transparency and consistency across the Submarines network and systems.
About the Role
This role offers a unique chance to contribute to a critical national project, working on the high-profile Dreadnaught Programme. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining processes that support the entire engineering lifecycle.
Your Responsibilities
* Identify and manage emerging or existing compliance risks related to Engineering and Quality standards.
* Assist in creating and managing a risk-based audit schedule, supporting inspections and recertification processes.
* Support the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the T&FC Operational Framework and Code of Practice.
Your Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree in a STEM-related subject.
* Proven experience of managing engineering and quality governance activities within a complex software environment.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
* Exposure to Engineering Management Plans, Business Management systems, and Operational Frameworks.
