I2 Group, a Harris Computer company, are currently recruiting for a DevOps Engineer on a permanent, full-time, remote-working basis. Whilst the position is remote, there is a requirement to visit the i2 office in Cambridge, UK when there is a business need to do so. We’re seeking an experienced DevOps Team Lead with the ambition and flexibility to join our small team and help our customers to achieve their goals. The team integrate development and operations to enhance collaboration, automate workflows, and accelerate delivery cycles, enabling self-service for development teams, and fostering a culture of cloud excellence. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing i2’s products and services, which are used around the world by national security, law enforcement, military, and commercial organisations. Position & Responsibilities The DevOps team is responsible for our Developer Experience systems to support our R&D department, as well as the deployment and maintenance of our public-facing SaaS product. You will design, build and maintain solutions in collaboration with our System Architects and Systems Security Officer, ensuring we adhere to our existing ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 obligations. In performing this role your core duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: Line manage the DevOps team Mentor and coach your reports, helping them to deliver on the company’s goals Use your previous experience to help deliver new or improved solutions Act as a Scrum Master Automate AWS infrastructure tasks using scripting and configuration management tools, e.g. CDK and CloudFormation Focus on reliability and maintainability Remove blockers and dependencies, helping our teams become as self-sufficient as possible Implement deployment architectures, on-cloud, on-prem, and on-device, built upon containerized technologies Maintain and improve our build systems for automated building and publishing of our products Ensure security and compliance across environments Drive automation across all touchpoints of the developer experience. Instrument and monitor developer experience, to enable data-driven decision making. What we are looking for Bachelor's degree in software engineering, or related discipline and experience At least three years as a DevOps or CloudOps Engineer or Lead At least two years experience of Cloud Deployment Technologies, preferably using off-the-shelf solutions Solid understanding of container technology and experience in building production-grade images AWS Certification in one or more disciplines, especially related to DevOps or Cloud architecture Excellent communication skills: must be able to mentor, coach and work effectively with others Experience in using and reacting to AWS’s observability tools, particularly around product performance, security and costs Proven administrative experience of Azure Proven administrative experience of Atlassian Suite Strong Linux administration and networking skills Experience of using Object orientated programming and scripting Proven track record of designing, developing and maintaining on-prem Windows and Linux deployment tools Experience in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as CircleCI, Jenkins, Travis CI, GitHub Actions, or similar Solid understanding of SecOps and FinOps Proven troubleshooting and problem solving abilities Preparedness to undergo national Security Check vetting Preferred (but not essential) AWS automation with Python Azure certification in one or more disciplines, especially related to DevOps Building and maintaining solutions in technologies such as Kubernetes AWS CodeArtifact experience About i2 Our intelligence analysis software tools help analysts transform data real-time enabling customers to better leverage data and to detect, disrupt and defeat sophisticated threats.
