Commercial Operations Director | Luxury Furniture | London Harmonic Operations are proud to be recruiting the next Commercial Operations Director on an exclusive basis for one of the United Kingdom’s fastest-growing privately owned companies. Headquartered in London with regional offices and a state-of-the-art modern warehouse and distribution centre, this company are going places and are on track to hit £20 million t/o in their first 5 years of trading. Company culture is highly professional and values-driven with a real focus on customer service and product quality. While the continued growth levels lend the business a real ‘start-up’ feel (albeit with an experienced management team)- this isn’t the correct role for somebody who enjoys sleepy showrooms and quiet warehouses. Role & responsibilities: Reporting into the Founder, you act as the ‘connector’ between Sales and Marketing and the Finance and Operations, Manufacturing and Distribution function. You will be ultimately responsible for ensuring that products are manufactured to the highest standard, procured in the best prices and in the right amounts and then distributed and installed to the highest standards. While also ensuring that communication with other departments is effective and free-flowing. The role suits an individual who is highly commercial, but who is also a bit of a polymath and problem solver. The current state of play in the business is very positive (you aren’t inheriting any fires to put out), but the Founder also understands that there remains room for improvement, particularly in anticipation of the push towards £25-30 million t/o. What we need to see (Essential): Recent experience as either; Commercial Director, COO or Managing Director within a business-to-business wholesale retailer. Demonstrable experience of overseeing ‘best in class’ supply chain and distribution teams. Experience of managing effective and efficient stock management and inventory processes involving inventories of £1 million. Experience of being the ‘bridge’ between Sales and Marketing, Finance and the more functional warehousing, manufacturing and distribution. A functional (i.e. non-technical) understanding of what good looks like in relation to ERP systems. Solid understanding of the P&L and sales forecasts etc. Experience of overseeing high quality sales support, project management and customer services Great influencing skills and a high level of emotional intelligence What we’d like to see (Bonus): Current experience in a commercial furniture company Experience of overseeing at least part of a manufacturing and assembly supply chain, including supporting commercial procurement decisions. Some E-commerce / b2c exposure would be of real benefit. Location : London (min 3 days per week), with other days at Manchester offices. Salary : £85,000-100,000 performance related bonus. At Harmonic, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace. We actively welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and assure you that every candidate will be thoughtfully considered for the roles we represent, without regard to race, religion, gender expression, disability, or sexual orientation.
