Description We are looking for a Reception Volunteer to provide a friendly welcome to patients and guests when they arrive at the hospice, helping to create an enjoyable environment for everyone. Are you available weekly on Tuesday 5pm-8pm? Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks: Greet all visitors in a friendly and professional way, in line with hospice security requirements Take in postal deliveries, informing staff as necessary Handle incoming phone calls politely, taking and relaying messages as appropriate Ensure the Reception area is clean and tidy Maintain confidentiality regarding patient details and hospice records Help with other related tasks when necessary What skills/experience do you need? Good people skills - polite and friendly Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and emails Good communication and organisational skills A commitment to high standards and the provision of excellent service A reliable and responsible attitude An understanding of the importance of confidentiality Empathy and an understanding of the needs of those affected by end-of-life care issues.
