We are expanding our workforce and thisopportunity is available at Kingston Health.
As Medical Secretary, you play a key role in helping clinicians manage their patients, ensuring they can access secondary care and follow-up appropriately.
You will provide a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties to support our multidisciplinary team and patients. You will manage the referrals in and out of the practice, processing information in a timely manner, liaise with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies.
Most importantly, you will be the in-house expert on the referral process and be the contact for both clinicians and patients alike. You will enjoy patient contact and gently guide them on the sometimes confusing route they need to take to access the care they require.
You will be required to be well organised and able to prioritise workload within a fast paced enviroment.
Main duties of the job
Undertake referrals using eRS (Electronic Referral System)
Undertake 2ww and urgent referrals via the requiredcommunication method for the individual service
Typing of general letters/referrals
Maintain referral pathway information up-to-date andcommunicate changes to all staff
Maintain standard referral documents on System 1
Telephone answering
General letters to patients/consultants and other healthcareprofessionals
Provide timely response by telephone or in person to patients
Follow practice policies and procedures
All mandatory training to be kept up to date
Maintain confidentiality at all times
About us
Kingston Health have 2 practices based across Hull looking after 10000 patients. We are a training practice with 4 GP partners, clinical and non clinical staff. We are a friendly, supportive and well organised practice.

Workflow for clinical documentation appropriately signpostas per policy, file as necessary in line with established processes.
Read-code clinical documentation and complete administrativetasks as they are allocated ensure these are worked on as per surgery process.
Any other reasonable administrative task as directed by the PracticeManager or members of the management team and partners.
