This is an office-based position and remote working is unavailable MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB Promote environmental awareness on a range of issues and more specifically waste management, climate action and sustainability to assist the Council in meeting legislative and performance targets. Responsible for developing, coordinating and ensuring delivery of actions across a range of programmes and projects to support the delivery of Council's aspirations in relation to Environmental Sustainability, ensuring compliance with current legislation, regulations, accepted professional standards and obligations. Responsible to the Waste Contracts Manager for contributing to the Councils responsibilities through assisting with the monitoring, administration and management of the procurement and operation of contracts. Manage the delivery of the Council's Environmental and Sustainable Actions such as Climate Action Plan, Environmental Management Systems, Fairtrade Borough, Litter Action Plan etc and wider resource and environmental sustainability policies, plans and projects. Implement and assist in the delivery for the development of various new initiatives, schemes and projects to meet environmental targets and legislative requirements. Assist and support with the analysis and outputs for evidence-based decision making, the development of innovative solutions to improve the effective planning and implementation of project objectives and enhancing service delivery. Manage the collation and submission of statutory data returns. Identifying, analysing and monitoring performance trends.
