St Gregory’s is an incredible place to work; staff are positive and have excellent relationships with each other and the students that they work with. We have the highest pupil attendance levels in Warrington and at national level, and the behaviour of pupils is excellent, enabling high levels of teaching practice to take place without disruption.
The Geography team are a fantastic and collaborative group of people to work with, and you will be well supported in your career development to progress further. The team consists of 4 full-time colleagues who produce the highest outcomes at both local and national level.

At KS3, the Geography department closely follows the National Curriculum with many opportunities to expand pupil experiences and understanding beyond this carefully integrated. At GCSE, we follow the AQA specification with Rivers, Coasts, and Energy as our choice topics.
The department is incredibly well-resourced with all learning resources planned, meaning the successful candidate can focus their time on their own development and in further enhancing the learning diet of our pupils.
Recently, the department has acquired our own brand new Chromebook trolley containing 32 Chromebooks to enhance the provision of GIS across all Key Stages.
In January 2024, Ofsted’s inspection report graded the school as ‘Good’ in every area, and the school is graded as ‘Outstanding’ in our Section 48 Inspection of the Catholic Life provision of the school. We encourage all applicants to read both reports and to review our school website.
