Description Wood Process & Energy requires the services of a Site Electrical Engineer with a strong operational background within the major accident hazard environment; oil, gas, chemicals, power etc. to support the Engineering & Maintenance team on a 6 month contract. You will be supporting a client site in Northwich which is the largest onshore natural gas storage asset in the UK, with the company having expansion ambitions in new business areas. Develop the contracting strategy, contractor selection and perform regular contractor performance monitoring Plan the electrical aspects of plant outages Communicate effectively with the Regulator and Key Stakeholders Lead on site modification (MoC) relating to electrical systems, acting as the Technical Safety Assessment leader when required – Ensure that modifications satisfy all statutory and best practice requirements (IEC, ATEX, DSEAR, BS etc.) Develop continuous improvement CAPEX requests for planning and delivery Qualifications 5 years’ experience in the oil and gas, or process industries. Preferably in a site based Electrical Engineering role, but open to general electrical experienced Engineers with a willingness to further develop into this role Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Electrical Engineering – essential High Voltage authorisation – desirable but not essential High level of attention to detail – essential for this role Responsible, proactive and self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude; able to work with a high level of autonomy Contract Management experience – with a high level of commercial awareness Project Management experience, ability to plan and deliver CAPEX in a live plant environment Knowledge and practical experience of Hazardous Areas, HV & LV distribution, motors, VSD’s, large drives, switchgear and UPS NEBOSH General Certificate desirable
