The Company
Our client is the National Airport for Wales and an important part of the national transport infrastructure and key gateway to the UK for international visitors.
There are 13 airlines currently making regular use of the airport’s facilities, which include KLM, TUI, Aer Lingus (Emerald), Ryanair, Vueling, Eastern and Loganair.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fully qualified and experienced Mechanical Technician to join the Facilities Maintenance Team. The Mechanical Technician will assist the Technical Supervisor and collaborate with the wider FM team to undertake all aspects of effective facilities maintenance activity delivering a reactive response as required and participating in the successful execution of the planned maintenance regime. The role will also ensure all statutory obligations are fulfilled, and will provide a high quality service in line with customer and organisational requirements.
The individual will be part of a Rolling 4 on 4 off shift pattern - 12 hour shifts (Days and Nights)
About you
We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified individual with either a time served indentured Apprentice or equivalent, in a mechanical bias, Engineering or Commercial Gas.
The successful candidate will have experience of installation and repair of plumbing, heating, and hot water systems, understanding / previous experience with HVAC systems with a pro-active approach and ability to work individually and as part of a team.
The post holder will a keen focus on developing their individual skills and competencies, whilst also supporting the development and skills of the team with good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to the business.
Please note: The successful candidate will be asked to provide a Criminal Record Check to comply with Department for Transport regulations and will be required to apply for a Counter Terrorist Check (CTC). To be able to apply for a CTC individuals must of lived in the UK for the last 3 years.
Key Requirements
- Time served indentured Apprentice or equivalent, in a Mechanical bias, Engineering or Commercial Gas.
- Experience of installation and repair of plumbing, heating, and hot water systems, understanding / previous experience with HVAC systems with a pro-active approach and ability to work individually and as part of a team.

- Experience working on Commercial Facilities
- Full UK Driving License
- Health and Safety Awareness
- AGL or airfield experience (Desirable- Training will be offered in the role if successful)
