Interim Housing Management Accountant ATR 5261794 Hybrid working
Key Requirements:
1. Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, ideally within a public sector organisation.
2. CIMA/ACCA/AAT qualified and/or significant demonstrable management accounts experience.
3. Experience of producing monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and period forecasts.
4. Experience in working alongside budget holders and directors.
5. Experience of managing and leading a team/individual.
6. Experience using accountancy software.
7. Knowledge and understanding of accounting standards.
8. Knowledge of the housing sector.
9. Knowledge of service charges.
The purpose of the role is to provide the best financial information and support for our development business and other internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production of monthly management and assisting with annual statutory accounts.
2. Preparation of budgets and forecasts.
3. Preparation of financial reports and liaison with budget holders and other stakeholders external to finance to discuss and review.
4. Maintaining a good level of technical accounting knowledge to ensure that accounts are prepared correctly and in line with the relevant accounting standards.
5. Ensure all reporting deadlines are met without exception.
6. Manage workload, delivery, and development of assistant management accountants.
7. Balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with best practice.
8. Journal processing, including ensuring the correct accounting of accruals and prepayments.
9. Review of assistant management accounts work to ensure accuracy.
10. Interrogation of financial systems to identify errors and make corrections.
11. Variance analysis.
